The True Italian’s Instagram contest is back! This time to celebrate the upcoming Berlin Ice Cream Week, May 6-12.
The second edition of the Berlin Ice Cream Week is just around the corner and, as per usual, True Italian will launch an Instagram photo contest. No travelling this year though: we have decided to combine your and our passion for good artisan gelato with a prize that will allow you to make it yourself, at home. Whoever takes the best photo during the week of the event will be the lucky winner of a G3 Ferrari ice cream making machine worth €300!

The ice cream making machine that you could win
The price of our Instagram contest is the CREMOSA ice cream machine by G3 Ferrari. Made of stainless steel body, CREMOSA is ideal for creating homemade ice cream and delicious sorbets with professional results in less than 60 minutes. Anyway it can be easily used also by people without know-how in the ice cream making process: it is not necessary to freeze the bowl and the ingredients may be conveniently added at room temperature through the practical refill spout, without any interruption of the processing cycle. The freezing bowl is removable for an easy cleaning, the display shows each stage of the process, that can be also controlled through the wide transparent lid. The Instagram contest: how to participate
Would you like to try to win this fantastic machine ice cream making in the comfort of your own home? Here’s how: From the 6th to the 12th of May, go to one of the 31 participating ice cream parlours and order the special event flavour. Take a photo of the ice cream, or of someone eating it, and be creative! Post it then on your personal profile by 11 pm on May 12th.
Remember: Stories will not be taken into account!
These are the rules for posting a pic to be eligible for the competition:
- Tag the @trueitalianfood profile in the photo.
- put the hashtag #berlinicecreamweek
- in the description, as a location, put the gelato shop where you took the photo at (obviously it must be one of the gelato shops taking part in the event).
N.B.: The contest is thought only for amateur photographers and ice cream lovers, no professional pictures will be taken into consideration.
How to win the contest
The posts will be judged by a jury made up of the True Italian team, which will select the 10 most original and creative photos. Then, on Thursday 13th, they will be posted on the @trueitalianfood Instagram stories, where you will have the chance to vote for your favourite ones through a poll. Only after 24 hours, i.e. after the canonical duration of the stories, we will announce the lucky winner of the G3 Ferrari ice cream making machine. The winner will receive the machine directly to his/her address in Berlin.
Berlin Ice Cream Week: what it is and how it works
We’ve selected 31 artisan ice cream parlours in Berlin to create a special flavour of their choice for the event – imaginative, creative and made with the finest ingredients. And that’s not all: for the whole week of the event, i.e. from 6 to 12 May, the special flavour will be sold at just €1 per scoop. Taking part is as easy as eating an ice cream cone: just go to one of the participating ice cream shops (full list here) and ask for the Berlin Ice Cream Week special flavour. For those who don’t like Instagram, True Italian has also organised a totally offline contest: grab a map of the event at one of the participating gelato shops and every time you visit one of them during the event, ask for the corresponding little sticker. If you collect at least 5 stickers (from 5 different gelato shops), send the photo to trueitaliancontest@gmail.com and you will be entered into a draw for an ice cream voucher worth €50 to be spent in one of the event gelato shops of your choice.
