The biggest event dedicated to authentic Italian pizza ever organised in Germany is once again finally around the corner. Our True Italian Pizza Week Deutschland is back, and it has plenty of surprises for you.
Only one day to go until the event dedicated to all our true Italian pizza lovers: the True Italian Pizza Week Deutschland! From the 15th to the 21st of September customers will be given the chance to taste a special pizza of their choice (out of the two on offer) and an Aperol Spritz for just 15€. The event will involve more than 300 pizzerias throughout Germany and will take place simultaneously in the best ones in Berlin, Cologne, Dortmund, Dresden, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Hanover, Leipzig, Mannheim, Munich, Münster, Nuremberg, Stuttgart and Wuppertal. The event is organised by True Italian, the Berlin Italian Communication project dedicated to promoting authentic Italian food abroad, in collaboration with Campari Deutschland, and has the patronage of the City of Naples and the Italian Culture Institutes in Germany. The aim of this event is to celebrate real Italian pizza, made with high-quality ingredients, deep knowledge of the different types of dough, and, above all, passion.

Participate in the Instagram contest with your photographs and fly to the homeland of pizza: Naples
How to take part in the contest
The rules to participate in the contest are quite easy. You just need to go to any of the participating True Italian Pizza Week locations between 15 and 21 September, and order one of the two pizzas on offer (here are the complete lists of participating pizzerias in Berlin, Cologne, Dortmund, Dresden, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Hannover, Leipzig, Mannheim, Munich, Münster, Nuremberg, Stuttgart, Wüppertal) and post a creative/funny photo of the pizza you ordered on your Instagram profile. The photo must be published as a post (stories will not be taken into account) by midnight on 21 September and you must stick to the following rules:
- tag @trueitalianfood and @trueitalianpizzaweek Instagram profiles
- mention the hashtags #trueitalianpizzaweek and #togetherwithaperol in the post
- mention the pizzeria where the photo was taken (which must be one of the 300 participating pizzerias) as the location of the post.
How to win the contest
After the week of the event, our jury will select the ten most beautiful and/or funny photos, rewarding creativity rather than technique, as it is a contest for amateur photographers. Then, on Thursday 22nd September, these ten shots will be posted as Instagram stories on the @trueitalianfood profile, and the followers will decide, through the Instagram polls option, the three photos that deserve to win the prizes. When the Instagram stories expire, i.e. 24 hours later, we will announce the three winners and contact them.
The prizes
As previously mentioned, what is new this year is that the contest will not have just one winner, but three.
Starting with the bronze medal, the third-place winner will be awarded an Aperol box, which contains everything you need to enjoy a Spritz night: a 0.7l bottle of Aperol, a 0.7l bottle of prosecco, a 0.5l bottle of soda, two official Aperol glasses and the orange Aperol sunglasses.
The runner-up will win a Koda 12 OONI stone oven plus the Aperol box. The Koda 12 OONI oven is made for those who want to bake pizza at home: in fact, despite its small size, which makes it an “amateur” oven, it reaches the ideal temperature for cooking pizza (500ºC) in just 15 minutes and can bake a fresh pizza in just one minute (you can find more information here).
Lastly, the first prize winner will not only win the Aperol box but also a flight and a three-night stay for two people in Naples, at the Guesthouse Napoliamo, located in a historic building in the heart of the city, a few minutes away from the harbour (read our article here). The strategic location of this structure, the modern and cosy style of the interior and, above all, the typically Italian hospitality and friendliness of the staff will make your stay unforgettable!

This is why a trip to the city is not only a unique chance to soak in the Italian history and culture, but also the perfect way to enjoy all the specialities this country, whose culinary tradition is considered to be one of a kind in the whole world, has to offer.
