Just like every week, the weekend approaching also means it’s time for our much-loved True Italian Food News. This weekend will be dedicated to good food and, above all, good wine, in the run-up to September’s most-awaited event for pizza lovers: our True Italian Pizza Week. Get ready to taste the most delicious pizzas in town next week!
True Italian Pizza Week
Less than a week to go until the most eagerly awaited event for all pizza lovers, and we couldn’t be more excited: from the 15th to 21st of September, our True Italian Pizza Week will be back! For one week, hundreds of pizzerias all over Germany will be offering a special deal: for just €15, customers will be able to enjoy a special pizza of their choice (of two offered by the pizzeria) and an Aperol Spritz (or a Crodino, the non-alcoholic alternative to it). Don’t worry if you’re not in town: the event will not only take place in Berlin, but also in Bielefeld, Cologne, Dortmund, Dresden, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Hanover, Leipzig, Mannheim, Munich, Münster, Nuremberg, Stuttgart and Wuppertal as well. As they say, “a pizza a day keeps the doctor away”: so don’t miss this special deal and try as many special pizzas as you can!

Wednesdays’ journey throughout Italy
Don’t miss Mani in Pasta Ristorante‘s series of exclusive wine-related events! Every Wednesday you will have the chance to attend real wine-tasting workshops, where you will be given a first overview on various wine-related topics. In cooperation with the Europäische Sommelier Schule, Mani in Pasta will bring you through an informative but also emotional journey in various Italian regions. In addition, two Thursdays per month will be dedicated to exclusive events with a limited number of guests, accessible by purchasing tickets in advance and in which you will not only experience an exquisite culinary journey through Italy, but also meet wine producers who will share stories and more details about their products with you. Two upcoming events in September will be:
- 14th September: Sensory Analysis – What can be found in wine
- 21st September: Wine and Pasta, palate sensations

PROSIT! – Der Weinmarkt
On Sunday 11th of September, come to Altrovino’s stand in the first edition of PROSIT! During this event, 24 wineries from all over Berlin will display their wines on the stands in Markthalleneun, and Altrovino will join with their wide palette of Italian wines. So, don’t miss the chance to come and try some of the best wines Berlin has to offer. For just 10€ admission ticket, you will be able to taste any wine you like and buy glasses or whole bottles as well.

The Sunday Pop-up of this restaurant (in Muskauer Str. 9) offers a rich tasting of Italian and international wines accompanied by tasty specialities such as parmigiana pie or tonnato bun. Malafemmena’s awarded as the 67th best pizzeria in the world
Again on the topic of competitions, Pizzeria Malafemmena has brought honour to the name of Italian pizza abroad. If there are around 80000 pizzerias in Italy, how many are there in the world? Maybe millions? Well… The most skilled agency on the matter of pizza and pizzerias, 50 Top Pizza, has named Malafemmena the 67th best pizzeria in the world. It is an honour to have two Malafemmena pizzerias in our beloved Berlin!
