7 days, 33 Italian restaurants, 14€ for a pasta specialty and a drink: the True Italian Pasta Week 2021 is just around the corner.

Lasagne with truffle and pumpkin; Homemade Pizzoccheri with latteria cheese, potatoes, garlic, butter, and pepper; Culurgiones with squid ink dough stuffed with octopus and potatoes; Amatriciana alla lucana; Fresh spaghetti alla Norma in an aubergine roll with smoked provolone cheese; Fettuccine with duck ragout; Fresh orecchiette with fennel sausage, celeriac cream, artisanal Tarallo crumble and much more… To celebrate one of the main symbols of Italian cuisine par excellence, True Italian is organizing an event dedicated to the best pasta you can find in around Berlin: True Italian Pasta Week 2021 from the 22nd to the 28th of November. From Trattoria Muntagnola to DocG via Vino e Basilico and Mani in Pasta:  for a whole week the participating restaurants will be offering two truly original recipes waiting to be discovered.

True Italian Pasta Week: the event

For one week, 33 among the best Italian restaurants in Berlin will offer a pasta dish (to be chosen between two particular recipes, each portion being at least 100g) and an Aperol Spritz or a glass of wine for only 14 €. The offer will be valid in all restaurants participating in the event (full list of restaurants at the bottom of this article) and to participate just go to one of them and ask for the specialty of the event. True Italian Pasta Week is an initiative of Berlin Italian Communication organized within the True Italian project. The event takes place on the occasion of the Week of Italian Cuisine in the World. Partners of the event are Aperol, SumUp, Paynoweatlater, Acqua Panna & S. Pellegrino, Mammafiore, Tartufi Jimmy, Montanari Gruzza, Armando Pasta and Palazzo Calò in Bari. In fact, thanks to an Instagram contest it’s possible to win a 3-nights-stay for 2 people in Bari, Apulia, and discover the art of handmade orecchiette!

What kind of pasta you can taste during the event

The event aims to celebrate pasta in all its shapes. Among the offered recipes, you will find the classic fresh homemade pasta, made with eggs and flour (tagliatelle, fettuccine, lasagne, spaghetti alla chitarra, ravioli, and any type of filled pasta), handmade pasta with semolina flour and water (orecchiette), potato gnocchi, culugiornes (Sardinian ravioli), pizzoccheri (pasta from Lombardy) and some other types of artisanal and top-quality dry pasta. Demand and consumption of pasta in Germany have increased by 20% in the last two years, making it one of the main export markets for Italy.

True Italian Pasta Week: the map

In order to immediately see where all the participating restaurants are located, we created a map based on the Berlin public transport’s, showing all the restaurants area by area, with their addresses, specialties and the drinks they offer (Aperol Spritz or glass of wine). The True Italian project

True Italian is a network that aims to preserve authentic Italian restaurants in Berlin through the trademark (registered at the Deutsches Patent und Markenamt and the EUIPO) and a series of initiatives and events throughout the year. The project is carried out by Berlin Italian Communication. True Italians are all those ambassadors of Italian cuisine who, starting from the choice of the ingredients, demonstrate their commitment to spreading good eating every day. Let’s be clear: when it comes to True Italian, the focus is not on the nationality of the chef/manager or owner, but on the approach to cooking. Original recipes and high-quality ingredients: these are the two keywords of True Italian restaurants.
