The chilliness in the air, people in the streets wearing heavy jackets and wrapped in fluffy scarves, the first lights appearing on balconies and out of the windows are all clear signs that the much-awaited winter season has arrived. You can feel Christmas vibes everywhere and to enhance this festive mood numerous Christmas markets open up all around Berlin.

And ours is no exception: On Friday, 8th, Saturday, 9th and Sunday, 10th December the Italian Street Food Festival – Christmas Klimbim edition is coming to Berlin in the Arena Market Berlin (Eichenstraße 4a, 12435). The market will take place both outdoors and indoors: the outdoor area will host street food stands while the indoor area, on the other hand, will host Italian delicacies along with arts and crafts stands.

The entrance will be 4€, but it is free for kids under 12 years old. Don’t waste time in the line, get your pre-sale ticket online on eventbrite.

The best Italian street food, specialties and design

Delicious Italian specialties will be awaiting you among the numerous stands dotting the location: caldarroste (roasted chestnuts), typical of the Italian Christmas tradition and usually accompanied by a smoking glass of vin brulé, artisanal panettone and torrone, kids favorites to eat under the Christmas tree, tiramisù and the always amazing offering of gnocchi, arrosticini, pizza, arancini, cannoli, panzerotti and much more… with one stand complitely gluten-free!

However, thinking about Christmas (after loads of food, obviously) we think about sharing presents ! But worry not, you will find amazing ideas for Italian-tinged gifts strolling around: a collection of vinyls with the most loved Italian music of all time; natural soaps and shampoos, in all colors and scences; eco-friendly jewelry, made out of recycled plastics and bins and so many other original artisanal products… Moreover the stands from Mediterranea will be present at the event, in order to raise awareness about the critical situation developing in the Mediterranean Sea.

Opening night party – Friday, 8th December from 10 p.m.

You can’t miss out the opening party on the evening of Friday, 8th! Starting from 10 p.m. a disco-party will unfold, in which DJs Ercole Gentile (renowned music journalist and tour organizer for bands such as Verdena, Afterhours, Liberato) and Musica Matta will keep you dancing until late in the night to the tunes of the most popular Italian songs ever.

There are going to be also some special cocktails at a special price to cheer us even more up: Glühmoncello DiCapri, Molinari Caffè and Monte Tonic!

The entrance fee will be 4€, same as the entrance to the market.

And what’s better than a late night snack at the end of the party? Some street food stands will be open until late to give you the chance to do satisfy your cravings after a long dance night!

A rich cultural programme – Saturday, 9th & Sunday, 10th December

Besides the DJ set that will enliven both days a rich cultural and musical programme will keep us entertained for all the duration of the event: readings, live concerts, a kids area for our younger visitors…

Saturday is stacked with events starting with a reading and an interview with Alberto Madrigal, illustrator and colorist of the Zerocalcare’s comics. This will be followed by the much-anticipated comeback of the Italian karaoke in the afternoon, so don’t be surprised if you hear someone bellowing Italian (or international) songs while you’re trying to buy that fragrant shampoo or that nice bottle of wine. But please take your time and wonder around the stand a little more beacause the Daiana Lou are coming to delight us some great live music, the group that started as street artists entertaining the public on the streets of Berlin is now well known all around Italy.

On Sunday, the closing day of the market, a Christmas choir by Projekt KiezChor will provide the perfect Christmas atmosphere. After that the collusion between Italian and German music with the Crucchi Gang and their popular German songs reproposed with Italian lyrics.

Organizers and Partners

The Italian Street Food Festival – Christmas Klimbim Edition is organized by Berlin Italian Communication as part of the True Italian project and the series of Christmas Klimbim markets at Arena Market Berlin.

Following the great success of the Italian Street Food Festival, held every June in Berlin since 2018 (with over 11,000 entries this year over two days), the festival finally has its winter version. True Italian had already organized a Christmas market in 2021 and 2022 under the name Italian Christmas Market, but this year the focus will be much more on street food and entertainment.

Event partners include Limoncello Di Capri, Sambuca Molinari and Amaro Montenegro. Media partner of the event is Berlino Magazine, the Italian-language magazine about Berlin and Germany.
