The event celebrating the southern Italian region of Basilicata arrives in Berlin with a special offer in more than 10 restaurants.

From the 4th until the 8th of October the Basilicata Week is landing in Berlin.
In more than 10 carefully selected Italian restaurants you will find an unmissable offer: an original Lucanian recipe, a glass of wine, an olive oil tasting for only 15€.

Basilicata: a land steeped in history and gastronomy.

Historically known to the ancient Romans as Lucania, this region in the South of Italy is now known worldwide as Basilicata.
A land full of history and flavors, its chief town, Potenza, has been chosen as the European Capital of Culture in 2019 and recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

The medieval villages, nestled in the middle of sea and mountains, paint a breath-taking scenery that will make you instantly fall in love with this marvelous corner of Italy.
An entire week will be dedicated to the traditions of Basilicata in more than 10 restaurants with a sensational offer, which will make you feel the warmth of South Italy even in the windy streets of Berlin.

Carpe Diem: Strascinati with lamb ragout.

10 restaurants and an exceptional offer

During the event 10 restaurants will offer an olive oil tasting and a traditional Lucanian recipe accompanied by a glass of red wine (Aglianico del Vulture or Lucanian Primitivo) for no more than 15€.

Exquisite recipes that are going to amaze even the most hardcore Berliner gourmet, prepared with traditional Lucanian ingredients such as fusilli, strascinati, sausages, peperone crusco and cacioricotta are awaiting you! The only way to find out more about these delicious recipes is by taking part at the event, a must for every lover of Mediterranean cuisine.

The restaurants participating in the Basilicata Week 2023 are among the best in Berlin, every one of them with a South Italian soul at its helm: Trattoria a’Muntagnola, Marina Blu, Mozzarella Bar, La Premiata, Carpe Diem, Trattoria Lucania, Masseria da Rocco, Modì, Dolci e Salati. There will be a special guest too: Spaccanapoli that, despite its distinct Neapolitan legacy, will be honoring Basilicata by offering pasta with peperone crusco.

Marina Blu: Fried baccalà with peperone crusco mayonnaise and cream of chickpeas

Basilicata Week 2023: how to join this wonderful event?

To savor the uniqueness of Basilicata in the German capital you just have to step in one of the aforementioned restaurants and ask for the Basilicata menu.
Every restaurant will have its own unique menu. However, among this whirlwind of flavors and aromas, there will be two typical products that will anchor Lucania to your palate: a glass of wine (Aglianico or Primitivo) and a little bottle of fine olive oil to be savored on a slice of bread.

On every bottle there will be a printed QR code that will transport to the fields from where this products come from, thanks to a brief video.

A little taste of this olive oil was enough to hook you in and now you’re already looking out for more?
Don’t worry, you can buy it for a special price at our event.

Who to thank for this amazing event?

The Basilicata Week 2023 is organized by Federazione delle Associazioni Lucane in Germania and by Regione Basilicata that have partenered up with True Italian, already renowned as ambassadors of Italian cuisine in Germany.
