Fancy a culinary trip to Italy? Join us for the first edition of the Basilicata Week and discover one of the most fascinating regions in the country. The Lucania, as the Romans used to call it, will travel to Berlin in October. And it’s waiting for you.

History and tradition, nature and culture, food and wine: this is what Basilicata means. It’s the region of Matera, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the European Capital of Culture 2019, also called “Città dei Sassi“, where impressive houses are carved out of limestone rocks.

 

But it’s also the region of the Vulture with its volcanic lakes hidden like jewels in rocks; of Maratea with its thirty-two kilometers of steep coastline and medieval villages; and of the Metaponto with its Greek roots that are visible especially in the archaeological park and the Museum of “Magna Grecia”.

 

During the Basilicata Week, a special offer will be available in 10 restaurants in Berlin: an authentic typical dish from Basilicata (all the restaurants will offer a vegetarian option as well, in case the selected dish is not vegetarian) combined with a glass of red wine and a taste of olive oil for the special price of 15€!

 

Taking part in the event is easy! You don’t need a ticket or a reservation (even though it is recommended). You just need to visit one of the participating restaurants from 4th to 8th October, ask for the Basilicata Week menu offered for the event, choose which wine and oil you want to taste and ENJOY IT!

 

If you liked the wine and oil you tasted, there will also be the possibility to buy them directly at the restaurant.
